FS#94 - Weechat needs a rebuild

Since the uprgade to python from testing, weechat has broken it’s python support, which at least knocks out the plugin I use to keep in touch with my old workmates over slack.

Inside /usr/lib/weechat/plugins there is a file named python.so, but its not any kind of link. I expect it to be fixed up if it were to be rebuilt.

Fixed in testing (i486,i686,pentium4).

Indeed, I just built weechat-git from the AUR and it works now. That's not exactly the same code since it's the head of the git repo, rather than the 2.6 release, but I don't expect anything changed there. It'll just detect what version of python is installed at build time and use that.

This seems to be on testing, as python is 3.7.4-2.0 and weechat is 2.6-4.0 on stable/pentium4 is working fine.
Note: testing is NOT supposed to be worked all the time.

I retriggered weechat (for testing)..

Sorry, yes, I should have noted that.

yes, can confirm, this is on pentium4/testing.

Np. It's absolutely ok to report errors for testing.
That's how testing happens.. :-)

This is also the reason for having the Categories..

levi commented on 20.11.2019 21:11

Indeed. While I noted my python came from the testing repos, I could have made it more explicit that I was using those repos, and like you say I could have set the category appropriately.

I took no offence from your initial comment, by the way, and am just glad to learn a better way to raise bugs.

Edit: I've tested the pentium4 rebuilt weechat. It now complains about some irc settings which it didn't in the old 2.6 build, but it doesn't stop me connecting. Thanks for the prompt work in fixing this.
