FS#346 - pandoc: error while loading shared libraries
# pacman -Syyuu base # pacman -S pandoc # pandoc pandoc: error while loading shared libraries: libHSzip-archive-0.4.1-FOOm53qGfUr2AB1Oel9iH4-ghc8.10.2.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
ok so it looks like pandoc was built against an older version of 'haskell-zip-archive' - maybe pandoc just needs a rebuild
I dropped Haskell a while back and made an anouncement.
The library/dependency hell and the micro-libaries for no good reason and
missing bootstrapability just made the whole thing unmaintanable.
And things were broken for years before anyway probably.
ok so this is a 'wont-fix'
the thing is, pandoc and all of its dependencies are still in the repos - if
none of it works, why not delete the packages? - no packages → no bug reports
FWIW, this also illuminates another general issue - i was going to try rebuilding/upgrading or whatever to fix it, but the PKGBUILD for pandoc is not available - arch dropped it back when arch had everything under SVN, and it never found it's way into the AUR; so because arch32 does not store any PKGBUILDs nor publishes –allsource packages, any packages in the arch34 repos which are no longer in arch or AUR, would need their PKGBUILD to be re-written from scratch if anyone wants to try rescuing them, or even to rebuild from source if they are not broken
